How to Explain Your Final-Year Project in an Interview
Your final-year project can become one of the strongest interview topics if you explain it clearly and honestly.
5 min read
Use a simple project story
Explain the problem, your role, the tools used, the main feature you built, one challenge and what you learned.
This structure works better than memorizing a long paragraph.
Be clear about team contribution
If it was a team project, say which part you handled. Recruiters do not expect you to own everything.
Clear contribution is more credible than claiming the full project alone.
Prepare follow-up answers
Be ready to explain why you chose a tool, what you would improve and how the project could work for real users.
If there is a GitHub link, make sure the code is presentable before adding it to your resume.
